Kitens, AWAY!

I mis-spelt kittens, on purpose, of course.

Alot of playing with Opacity levels. Some 3D text and many, many rendering of clouds. To end up with this image.

To get the lightning affect,
Render clouds, render difference clouds. Then adjust the levels so the white is close to the black, chaning the image to create a lightning like image.

Challange accepted.

As of today, I am aware of two assessments I have to do.
One of which is to write an essay, seems simple enough to be honest. Comapred to the other task, which is to create a "media rich" website for a Motorcycle course in the college. 5 weeks to do so, seems more than fair.

With my knowledge of buttons I have recently aqquired. The one thing that haunts me, is the drop down menu's and downloads and such things. Can't be TOO complex, can it?

Either way, it'll end up done, one way or another. Assuming our client has checked his emails, we should hopefully be meeting with him on friday, or somewhen soon, I hope. Tomorrow and the next few days will be filled with research and idea making.



On a side note, I have no idea how to "properly" write a blog, considering it is meant to be professional to some standard, but the blogs I read and take interest in are personal and more relaxed. Either way, heres another post.

Smart Phones

Today we were split into groups and assigned an OS of which smart phones run, to research and present.

The group I was in was assigned iOS, the OS that iPhones run.

From that you can see that iPhones peak in sales when a new version, however as time goes on the sales decrease. However of all the OS's the iOS is the most secure, as it is locked with your Apple account, which you can use to acess apps and other items through a PC/Mac with iTunes. Apple's software. iPhones are also the msot expensive of the lot. However from looking at the demographics, the main cosnumers of an apple iPhones were Generation X and Y.

BlackBerry was also another phone, because of the BlackBerry OS. It also proved to be one of the more popular phones, because of the built in messaging system (BBS) also because of the keyboard functionality. They can also support flash and many apps, which is attracable to many people. The BlackBerry was primarly seen as a 'bussiness phone' but has now changed to be used with younger generations, because of the text/messaging options.

Symbian, the oldest of the bunch, is the most used OS, however it is the the most popular because it is so old, and restricted and uncapable of supporting mordern apps. It does however remain updated with widgets and a small selection of apps, however it is not compairable to iOS or Android. It has also recently become Open Source for users to edit.

Android, the newly, most popular OS for phones, is still rising in numbers, overtaking iOS. It is open source, and easier for developers to make apps for. Which is an attractive feature for users. Many new phones run this also, because of the attention it has gained. Android is also owned by Google, so many google apps come preinstalled to phones, which also could atrtact people to buy them, which helps the trent increase. One of the capabilities of the Android amrket is that you can buy and rent movies.

Windows Phone is the newest of the OS's only being realesed in the early months of 2011. Which also means it would have low sales/users/popularity. It runs an OS called Windows Phone 7, which is not open source, and is developed by Microsoft.

Blog Creation

As of today, I have a blog, of which will be maintained for a very long time to remain connected with the Interactive media industry.

Also Flash code is slightly more confusing then I once hoped for, but it appears to be learn-able. Challange accepted.
